Cheaper at anchor, if you're brave enough.

I've got a 35lb delta with 10 metres of 3/8" chain but I still wouldn't be that tight!

Quite agree.. It will be bad enough having to leave our lovely boat in a strange place all by itself... I'll be worrying about it all night long

Yes - petrol is available from Mainbrayce (in the inner harbour) at a few hours each side of high tide - although if anyone is going on to Guernsey it's cheaper there.

Hi guys

I am up for this one, but it will also be weather dependent for us.

Been over hand full of times but never in my boat and never in a 5.4 rib.

Looking forward to it.

Silly question, but if the weather is poor, hotel booking is lost - right.

Toby

It's worth checking when you book it what their policy is - last year I think when the PowerBoat and Rib lot cancelled they only lost a few pounds deposit rather than the full amount.
You may well know a week ahead that you're deciding against it if the weather forecast is obviously not good.

The Sunseeker and Princess owners didn't float off in the middle of the night, we've had 3 on one Buoy before and no problems.

It's good holding in Braye unless it's NE. That said, I don't think they've ever run out of moorings even during the eclipse when the dinghy pontoon was mobbed.

In all seriousness, I think anyone contemplating this trip with less than a 6m boat needs to think very carefully and be very confident with open sea passages. On most previous trips the conditions have been fantastic to the point it would have been practically possible to do it on a li-lo, but I do recall a couple of years ago the hardened Osprey ribbers Mollers and Bedajim decided to sit it out for a few extra hours because their first attempt to return home was a bit more more lively than they fancied. I don't want to put anyone off, but bear in mind that the return journey can't be predicted to the same extent as the outbound for weather conditions.

The OH's insisted, honest!

We actually gave it an hour to let the tide turn. We had fairly thick fog and a big, sharp wallowy swell on the nose. To maintain 30knts+ we were getting a tedious amount of uncomfortable landings. An hour made all the difference.

Very much so and as always we are here to help the Floptilla in any way. We are still doing diesel and petrol and in the process of negotiating prices! Petrol will still be more than Guernsey but hopefully diesel prices will soon be more competitive!

You can also get diesel from the quay outside mainbrayce and we are in the process of negotiating prices!

Went to another fuel berth in jersey today at the Elizabeth marina, diesel 78.5p, petrol 83.5p.

Wish I checked there before taking 500 litres at 97p the other day!
