Alderney, Cherbourg, Guernsey, Sark, Alderney - what a week it's been. Home tomorrow to avoid the next storm.

Yup - got back safely yesterday afternoon after a nice run across the Channel with Superfly (CFG) and Ocean Devil (Marc).

Decided to try out the Aux on it's bracket for the last bit up Southampton Water and the Itchen (as I haven't used it properly since it was fitted) and it worked well - easy to set up and its 9.9hp pushed us along at 5Kts against a slightly falling tide and the flow of the Itchen, so did exactly what I hoped it would do.

Thanks everyone for a great few days - the weather really couldn't have been much better!

And thank you Trevor for showing us around - the trip to Sark was the best for me, mooring up on the wall of the little Creux Harbour and exploring the time warp island there was really incredible. Anyone interested in doing this next year then we plan to return for four days camping (Glamping) at Saye Beach on Alderney. For family's or groups the pre erected, fully equipped tents with three bedrooms were excellent - just bring sleeping bags as everything else is laid on. I have a year to somehow find the energy to hit that quarry party and stay until dawn..

We are going back with the kids next year. Mrs W is completely sold on the idea. I just need a bigger boat now

Alex - we'll babysit the kids on the Saturday night - I think there's a party we can take them to. .... what can possibly go wrong?

Dude, taking your kids to a rave wasn't the brightest idea that I've ever had
