As a group we have done a few trips to islay, oban and the Isle of Man, but this year owing to the strength/weakness of the pound/euro we looked at running a trip within Ireland. We settled on the Mayo coast, specifically westport and the Islands.
We found it to be a really nice area with Clare island, Inishturk island, Inishboffin island and killary fjord a comfortable days cruising distance.
Achill island is just north of where we were and that would be another day out. If the weather is inclement there are numerous small islands closer to shore.
