Hi Jackeen

got it in uk used, It had done about 35 hours. was imported by previous owner i think. Great boat, we just liked the boat when we saw it. despite what has been reported in this forum it is very well built (with the exception of the electrics which i intend to rewire). it has some good detailing and handles really well.

I had to replace the axle on the trailer for one with brakes as the regs in SA are different to ours.

Just saying hi and introducing my self as a new member of this forum.

Just to butt in on this one.

I have seen the FALCON in Greece. As a matter of fact I went on board Manos' 7 mtr RIB with Michael the Bat.

The boat looks very nice. The construction is very good and despite jumping over 2 and 3 meters waves for over an hour doing 30 and 40 knots nothing came lose (except Manos' radio/cassette).

As I understand it Manos is starting a new business building a few apartments to rent and also hiring RIBs on Santorini in Greece. He is in process of ordering a few 6.50 mtrs RIBs from FALCON (I think 6??).

It will be interesting to hear Manos' view (once he gets them) on those RIBs.

Falcon leads 1000km offshore challenge

For those interested, Falcon is currently leading overall the annual 1000km Trans Agulhas Challenge along the South African coast - today is day 4 of this gruelling 5 day event and the Falcon 700RSR (F2) is outperforming everything else on the water, even the F1 and open class RIBs. For more info on this race please let me know.

Would love to hear more, and see some pictures as well!

I would think that the setup for these boat would be a little more detuned for reliability than our short distance boats - we race for about 70 miles or about 1.5 hours in the UK, so it is more of a sprint race for us. What engine are you using on the F2 and what speeds are you getting? It would also be interesting to find out what the other boats are that you are beating and what engines they are running?

Good luck for the rest of the race,
