It looks very good, how fast is it in topspeed with honda 200 and fuelconsumtion.

top speed is around 4 knots with 2 or 3 people on board, im not sure if thats what it should do for this size engine and boat thou, fuel isant too bad untill you open it up flat out every where! cruiseing at 30 knots i prop use about £40 a day in her , the engine has only done 270 hrs!

ha ha , top speed is about 40 - 42 knots, well the fuel is about £40 for about 4 hours running time. at about 30 knots

How much do you pay for fuel?! @ 100ppl I make that about 0.3 litres per mile, rather frugal by anyone's standards

With the weight of that boat and a 200 4 stroke, i wouldn't have thought you would get under 1L a mile. We have a 6.3 Humber OP with opti 2 stroke, not much less economical than a 4 stroke. At 25 mph we get 1L per mile.

4 hours at 35mph. You will have travelled 140miles. at £1.10p/l you have spent £154. Give or take some economy and stopping starting, even if you reduce the distance by a third due to pottering around and reduce it to 0.75L per mile, you will have spent £77.

Lovely looking boat though, if not a tad underpowered perhaps. Though a nice cruiser.

He's doing 40+ knots and cruising at 30 and you think he's "underpowered". Are Atlantic 75/85s underpowered too?

He says he is using £40 of petrol in 4 hours. I doubt he cruises at 40knots either, if he is, he is using way more fuel!

cant comment on atlantics, but just thought 25more hp than ours, as a less torquey 4 stroke, pushing an 8m boat may be slightly lacking. IMHO. That was my logic.

I think the boat's underpowered as well. I also think there's a bit of fibbing going on througout this forum when it comes to fuel consumption!

Hows about we leave the poor newbie gadge alone? - I don't think he really knows what fuel he's burning.

BTW, at 32 and 35 kts respectively at WOT, those 75s and 85s are positively sluggish by FIBnet standards...

yeah true....... i think i miite be able to get a bit faster if i can change the pitch of the prop , not rearly too sure what one to get though .

Indeed - but there not necessarily underpowered, they are well equipped for the task they do, just as the OP's boat is probably giving him more than adequate performance for the sort of stuff he does (which probably isn't that different from the rest of FIBnet - most of who rarely spend all day at top speed anyway)

Underpowered... No and Yes.

Depends on how you use the boat... And how much load you drive around with.

For me it sounds nice, cruise in 30+ with 8m rib....

(Last summer i had opportunity to drive a Fountain 42 in 75 knots, but then you need a crazy budget for a summer)

My wife calls it "ribnet borum". Always being told to get off.

50mph in a 6m is fast enough fir me too. Anything other than flat calm, it's too uncomfortable/dangerous anyway.
