Thanks guys. I'm looking really for an ETEC or 4 stroke, 60 but ideally 70hp, though needs to be 129kg max with lowish hours. 2005 or later, up to about £2700 max. Tall order perhaps, but this is the time of year for a good price apparently !

Would a 2003 Merc F60EFi be of interest?

I've got one on my SR4.7 and it suits the boat really well.

Don't dismiss Tohatsu. If you can find an EFI model they are just as good as any ETEC, they have great reliability too and you might be able to buy one cheaper than the ETEC assuming you can find one of course

+1 (the fact I'm running the same engine has absolutely nothing to do with it)

The e-tec is nice, but 60-75 hp are heavier than many 4-strokes.

Very true in some cases, but I'd only be going for a 60hp rather than 75hp e-tec as my sr4.7 is only rated to 70hp. The 60hp e-tec is 109 kg which is pretty light compared to most 4-strokes I'd likely be able to afford for <£3k - right? Or are there other makes/models I should be looking out for you'd recommend? Cheers.

It's had a major rebuild, not sure I would take the risk...

Agreed. An e-tec 75 it also too heavy / slightly overpowered (insurance issue) for a SR 4.7 ;-(
