I was towed by AA once and was told to switch...

I was towed by AA once and was told to switch hazards off as it was illegal when moving. But that was 20+ years ago so may be out of date advice.

Some cars, ie VW/Audi have sophisticated digital towing electronics. As well as disabling fog lights, they also disable rear parking sensors and put car into special stability mode to reduce issues...
