The Avon S100 and S250 were both the same size, but the 100 was more lightly built. The S250 had anti hogging strips along the tops of the tubes and may (I can't remember!) have had a red foredeck as...

I wouldn't worry about colours. Just get decent Hypalon tubes and they'll last and last. My 97 Avon 311 Rib is in white. Yes, it gets dirty and is the devil's own job to get clean, but the tubes are...

I seem to recall reading some years ago that inshore rescue boats had a windspeed limit put on them.
Apparently the SIBS could take any weather, but the crews couldn't, and above a certain...

Launching without a slipway

I think your problem lies with the engine. On most canals and rivers you'll be nudging the speed limit on tickover, and the weight of a 15hp...............

I think your boat should be light enough...

Repairing Baffles.

I might get shot down for this, but I don't think I'd worry too much.
If the tubes are otherwise sound, the chances of getting a catastrophic rip in normal usage are pretty minute. A puncture of a...

Wood floor + keel for Avon Rover.

The 280 and S60 series didn't have an inflatable keel. They just had a flat floor and they skidded along reasonably but wetly.
I mess about with inflatables, and I've had a Redcrest on the plane on...

Is 10 hp enough to plane a Zodiac........?

We have a 9.8 Tohatsu 2 stroke on our Avon 311 Rib. With a full tank of fuel and 2 of us ( 12 stone and 9 stone) it flies. Hope that helps.
