Avon inflatable

Looking for an Avon inflatable capable carrying a 40hp engine. Steering and trailer would be an advantage. Cash waiting.

Don't be hung up on that brand, I once was, I still have two of thier older products and they are fantastic.

I was talked out of buying a modern Avon and I am now pleased i listened.

There are now some much better alternatives.

I was just pointing out that it is not the brand/company that it once was (mores the pity) and that it competitors, big and small, have come a long way in recent years.

Only my view but that's what this place is all about is it not?

Should have said it needs to be a SIB as I will carry it in my caravan. Something like a Typhoon S4.00 or S4.60. Age not as important as condition. Really prefer hypalon to PVC, less hassles with seams coming apart due to poorer glue used in older PVC craft.

I've just sold a Avon SIB, it was by no means brand new but was in good condition.
By all means you will alot newer for not alot more money but in my experience the old Avons were of excellent build quality.

I would have to agree the old ones were streets ahead of their competitors at that time, shame but there you go.

I have a nice old red crest that I shall never part with and a lovely rover 310, very few people are more Avon than me, but their new breed of products don't do it for me I am afriad - still each to his own.

My current rib is a Solent with henshaws tubes, it us now nearly 3 years old and I kid you not I have never had the caps of the valves.

Are you going to carry a 40hp motor in the caravan too?

You're going to need to be pretty strong to manhandle it around, bearing in mind it's going to weight around 75Kg. The biggest I would even contemplate is a 25hp and I'm not small.

It'd be a miracle if you can get a sib that'll take a 40hp through a caravan door too.

My 2.9 Seago would be a struggle to get in through a normal caravan door. The Redcrest wouldn't be much easier.

I already have a 40hp Yamaha 3 cyl autolube. I adapted a sack barrow and it goes into the back of the 4x4 a treat along with the battery. I carry the empty fuel tank in the top box. The advantage of the avon is it is very light and with some good packing should go into the van ( fingers crossed).

I have a Futura II HD, on a trailer with a honda 20hp on the back, seats and steering, in great condition, how much are you looking to pay?
