Sr4 or adventure

Wondering if anyone can help. Is the 4.0m avon adventure based on the sr4 hull or is it a totally different boat?

Don't know whats so funny but to explain im looking at a boat for sale which is described as an adventure and has blue adventure style tubes but it looks like an sr4 with the flooding hull and bow vents
Trying to work out if its wrongly described or they did an adventure based on the sr4 hull

The guy doesnt seem to know much about the boat to be honest Im just wondering if its actually an sr4 (which I'd prefer). I thought I'd read somewhere that the blue tubes weren't as durable as the grey. The guy doesnt know how old it is either wonder when they started using blue material

Are they the same build as the original sr4 or are they inferior in some way? Can't understand why they would do 2 boats side by side in the range with the same hull & presumably same tubes? And call them different names

Interesting, not seen one with a flooding hull before, possibly a way of shifting older designed hulls to leisure users by fitting blue tubes? The adventure hulls were actually outsourced ?

Wonder if the tubes are hypalon?

Yeh that was exactly my thoughts but he had someone send him a deposit without seeing it last night. So I guess unless its a shed then its sold. Nevermind I don't realy need another boat but it did look a bargain if it was an sr4

Yet they did. The 4m Adventurer is indeed an SR4 but just with blue tubes. And yes, the tubes are hypalon. Plenty of these boats knocking around. I guess they did it to make them more marketable to leisure customers.

The build quality on those blue tubes is nothing like the grey ones though. I’ve seen blue ones down to the canvas on tops of tubes, others with the rendering completely detached - that one was under ten years old. The old grey ones go on for ever.

My mate has tried to call the guy with that boat 3 times Ken.

He is less than useless in responding...

Typical for FBMP.

He also tried to buy the SR4 with no trailer in Tighnabruich. We asked to see it the next day and he said no he has "promised it to somebody the day after"

Still for sale, I was looking forward to towing it home at 20 knots.

The guy contacted me out of the blue on thursday as his buyer didn't turn up, the boat is now sitting in my yard.
Turned out to be a nice guy (although couldnt get a penny off the price)
He had a yard full of tracked offroaders & argo cats does work for electric companies
Boat is in prety good nick once the antifoul gets cleaned off

Good result. The Searider really suits that colour combination. Make sure to post up some good photos once you have cleaned it up.
