Rigging Grommet

Good afternoon,
I have a Yamaha F150 on my rib. The rigging grommet appears to be loose and I thinking that water might ingress.
Do these grommets wear out or become loose, should I consider replacing it?
I see the parts are available but have no idea if it’s a simple job, I guess the wires each have a specific location in the grommet and was wondering if I would need to disconnect many components?
My boat includes a rigging tube to house the cables and I not sure if it’s also loose.
I did note when I bought the boat that a previous owner had wrapped the join with rubber tape to help improve the matter but it’s definitely not right.
Any advice on rectifying matters would be much appreciated.
Thanks in advance
Charlie

is this the genuine Yamaha Flexi duct thing I think there is an end piece that goes over the wiring /controls I adapted mines onto the mariner one and ended up replacing the grommet in the engine as it had perished it sounds a common thing

The rigging kit comes with a 2 piece clamp that should be holding the rigging tube onto the grommet.
Better still, have a look at part number MAR-GRMTT-F1-50. Its by far a better way of attaching the rigging hose to front of engine.

Many thanks, I've order the said part and will either get a shop to swap it over or consider pulling apart the old one and re thread - apparently silicon spray is essential.
Has anyone got experience of this - should I just and it over to a pro?
