PROTECH 21 RIB

Does anyone know who manufactures a RIB called the Protec 21. It is the only one I have seen so far with a cuddy or cabin. Does anyone know who manufacturers a RIB with a cubby, or alternatively does anybody make a after market alternative.
Any information would be gratefully received.

The Protec 21 was (is?) made by SACS, an Italian company. You could try contacting

RYB Marine Sales Ltd
Maidenhead Road
Windsor
Berkshire
SL4 5HT
Phone: 01753 851717

Who were importing SACS RIBs last time I heard, or you could call Paul Lemmer who was importing the Protec 21 a year or two ago. His number is 01737 644307

There have been a number of other smallish cabin RIBs made, but most of them seem to be one-offs.

Production cabin RIBs tend to be rather larger, around the 9-10 metre mark. Manufacturers include Ribtec, South Coast RIBs (Scorpion), Ribcraft, Delta, Cowes Marine. Details in the suppliers section.

Hope this helps.
John

The Protec 21 is based on the BWM Deepsea 21 hull, albeit with the rear sections of the tubes fibreglass rather than hypalon. As John says, Paul Lemmer was selling them a year or too ago and I believe he may have one on his books at present. I am not sure how the additional weight of the cabin etc affects the performance but the DS21 is an extremely seaworthy hull. Dry, relatively soft riding and extremely stable. I speak from experience as I own one!

Try NAIAD in New Zealand who make a great range of good performing aluminium hulls.Stephen Schmidt will be able to incorporate your precise requirements in a vessel design.

It's all in the RIBnet directory

While you're looking at New Zealand RIBs, don't miss Protector RIBs for what I reckon is one of the best looking cabin RIBs ever.
