Polarstorm Propellers

Yes we’ve had a few. Good value and better than your average Chinese copy. Well finished with a fine blade thickness and not far behind OEM props in quality.

Three Yamaha fitting props below. Left to right;
Chinese no name, middle genuine Yamaha J type, Polastorm.

Hi Dennis, I have a 9.25 x 10 OE and a 9.25 x 10 Polarstorm. To be honest I can't tell the difference between them running on my Merc 20efi.

Thanks for that Mine for the 60 hp should arrive in two days. The OEM ones were going to be £150 more and a wait of 6 weeks

I've used a few and would, like Chipko, put them above pretty well all of the Chinese no-brands. The only issue I had in back to back testing was they didn't always run 100% to stated pitch if compared to OE.

I used one briefly on a Yamaha F50, performance was as expected but there was a terrible whine off it at low rpm ended up changing it for a genuine Yamaha one.

Be interesting if you could do a comparison between the OE and the Polarstorm when it arrives.

Do you have data from your old OE prop ie: rpm at wot, so that you can compare it accurately with the Polarstorm prop when you get out on the water?
As I said in #3 I can't tell the difference between my OE prop and the Polarstorm, 18.4 knots with the OE and 18.6 knots with the Polarstorm. I didn't have the tiny tach fitted so I don't know what the rpm was, I hope to do that test when I'm in Fowey.

No data yet as only just fitted it. I will see how it performs next time I am out in the Rib. I am sufficiently impressed that I am going to buy a second one as a spare. I can in effect get two of these for less than the price of one original. I was surprised that my original had the insert installed the wrong way round

Been about 35 miles with the new Propeller and I am very impressed. If you are thinking you should buy Original at Double the price dont hesitate to buy these Polastorm Propellers
