I get the idea though that its the final drive that is the problem on diesel inboards and I'm not an expert on them other than the fact they look complicated and expensive.

3 shafts, 4 cogs and some oil in mine. I suppose one day it will go bang but it is 26 years old now so not to bad.
Would be interesting to see how much they can produce a set of tubes for or say a hull. Presumably there is royalties to Halmatic for the design.
