How much do you pay a year?

Unfortunately my free bit of hardstanding has come to an end and I need to find somewhere to keep my boat.

Ideally another place free would be best for me but Penton Hook Marina in West London can only offer me £800 a year for hardstanding .

Perhaps I've been spoilt for too long but that seems a lot of money for West London.

Its now got me thinking how much people pay on the south coast itself and should I just forget about London and go for Lymington or something.

If people can give me some ball park figures for their secure storage site I would be grateful. I'm not after a berth only hardstanding and a slip. (Racking doesn't interest me as I then need somewhere to put a trailer!)

Thanks in advance.

Chris

Chris,

I can get you parking at Datchet Water on the M4 nr slough for a lot less than that. Easy tow west, or round the 25 and south to the coast. 20mins from the upper thames. PM me if you're interested

Yes and I've already had my 6.7m Delta vandalized there!!!

Local Pikey kids try to start the boat, set off fire extinguisher, stole nav lights etc etc.

Not going there again!

Chris,

Sorry mate, i didn't know that was your boat! You'll be pleased to know that Thames water took that very seriously, and there is now much better fencing, a huge entrance barrier even when the gates are open, and more CCTV.

Said kids also got nicked by the Anti-terrorist police about a week later trying to climb the fence.

i am storing a 6.5m caravan, a 21ft cabin cruiser and a 6.5 m rib for 20% of what you pay for one boat!!! mind you i have to tow the boats to a slipway which may be a very different arrangement to what you have...

If that's Haven Quay in Lymington it's a really good place and if you can afford it well worth being there. It's a great little town and bang in the middle of it. Lymington harbour has a nice feel to itand is a very relaxing place to be.

Very handy place for a Scorpion owner me thinks!.

I suspect that Haven Quay offer the full service of phone up and your boat is waiting for you afloat and ready to go. So if you compare to an annual marina berth it doesnt look too expensive for the size of boat. 'Course Scorpion owners are loaded so no bother!

happy to pay around 675 for two boats and a caravan and tow 5 miles to the slipway if it saves me £000's and £000's which it clearly does!!!

I suspect your right, only Julian said "We pay about £3500 for 8.5mtr rib hard standing at haven quay" which implies hard standing only
