Looking for RYA PB2 with Coastal Endorsement – North West

I’m going to Spain taking a 5 metre SIB in August and believe that I need to have my RYA PB2 with Coastal Endorsement plus my ICC before I go. We’ve been doing this for years now with a small SIB a 17ft Bayliner and this year with a 5 metre SIB. Unfortunately we’ve been doing this without any qualifications or paperwork other than insurance!!!

Some of you probably think I’m a right plonker but we had no idea that we were doing anything wrong. Having said that I know ignorance is not a defence so I’m trying to put things in order before I go to Spain in mid August. I guess I’ve been unknowingly lucky for the past 10 years, but now I know what’s required, I need to put things right.

The course will be for 2 people at least with maybe a third. We can’t do Sundays so a Friday, Saturday course would probably suit us best but we can take days off work if needed. My brother is already looking into this for us and he’s found a course that’s suitable on the 3rd and 4th of August but that’s a bit close for comfort to get the ICC paperwork back as we leave on the 11th of August. Unfortunately my Brother’s away for the rest of the week so I can’t ask if he’s had any further update so I thought I’d ask on here.

Thanks and I hope I’ve posted this in the right place.

Hi,

I know it's a couple of hours drive but I am a freelance instructor in the North West and I do a lot of my work at a centre in Pwllheli in Wales.

Please find below a link to their website with a calendar with all the dates, but just quickly looking through there is a coures available 26th - 27th July.

Alternatively if you get in touch I am almost certain that a course can be rescheduled or planned for a Friday-Saturday anytime it suits you between 1st July and when you go away.

The prices are very competitive with what's around.

If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact either myself or the centre directly.

Many Thanks
