Inflatable tube cleaner

Hi Fellow Boaters
I know this as been probably posted many times so sorry if I am going over old ground.

Can you advice me what is the most economical cleaner that is best for cleaning the tubes after every use, can you use normal fairy washing liquid or any other types of cleaner you can buy out of a supermarket.

I find a strong solution of [search],followed by a rinse off with [search] and a quick wipe over with [search] usually does the trick[emoji57].

We generally, like always, just wash down with tap water. Any stubborn/greasy stains might call for a bit of fairy liquid or cif on occasion.

Never use any boat cleaning magic potions tbh. Having said that, recently purchased an ex-demo/show little rib with very light grey grimy toobs that refused to clean up. So invested in some very expensive August Race Liquid Rib. In all fairness it worked a treat.

I was trying to not so subtly point you in the direction of the Ribnet search function[emoji6] if you put “cleaning, cleaner, clean” or any combination into the search box, you’ll get dozens of topics come up on tube cleaning.
It depends on your tube material, Hypalon or PVC. If Hypalon, it basically breaks down into 2 camps. Those who’re prepared to spend a fortune on fancy RIB specific cleaning products, & those who use domestic/commercial products for a fraction of the price.
Personally I use TFR & 303 protectant. The active ingredient in TFR is sodium hydroxide (caustic soda). Sodium Hydroxide is also one of the main constituents of “New Magic” cleaner sold br Pennel & Flipo, the manufacturer’s of Orca Hypalon.
For PVC, I’d use the search function [emoji6]
Enjoy Spain & keep us updated with the “current situation”[emoji106]

I would use MEK for the stubborn stains. you will need to turn the cloth ever so often.

In the wrong hands MEK will make things much worse. I certainly wouldn't recommend it for novice use.

Fairy Liquid has salt in it, so rinse thoroughly. Rib Revive from Rib Shop is a fantastic product for ingrained stains or marks which lift easily. Spray on, wait a minute, work into the tube material with a green scourer, then rinse off. Wear gloves as it's an irritant.

Pvc cleaner

Aldi are selling a upvc cleaner. It’s in a trigger pack and is branded by the RHS Royal horticultural society? Anyhow it’s down from 1.99 to 99p in our local shop. Going to give it a try on mine in the morning. Certainly brings up the window frames nicely.
