Great weekend in Anglesey, with SIB

Last weekend.

Friend has a static van just outside Bennlech. I always resisted taking my SIB as l thought the sea would be too rough for my little 2.8m boat.

But not so! Despite a fresh breeze the boat was great fun in fact better than a small RIB that l tried, which tended to bang over the waves giving a back breaking ride.
We made it back to Bennlech bay on the sea, and up the coast the other way, past the lifeboat station and round a small island. Had to take care in that area though due to the jet skis razzing about.

Did about four hours on the boat and had a great time, plus no need for a trailer or vehicle to launch, just lower the wheels and pull it back up to the caravan site.

Now my friends are looking to buy one (you can't keep a boat unless you have a pretty much unobtainable space on the site's boat storage)

I'd still like a RIB though if only for the seat and steering wheel.

Inflatables are OK to have on the site as you can roll them up and keep them in a shed or under a caravan etc.

I like that area to. My uncle has his caravan sited near traeth bychan.
Easy enough to launch, even easier if it was on a trailer.
And waters are usually calmer that side of the island

You can have seats and a wheel without a rigid hull zodiac have been doing it for years

Looks great, l never saw one of those before! I looked at the link but can't find that one, only a limited edition version (with engine) at nearly £12,000.

Zodiac futura get. Abuse done with engine and trailer for under £5k pack down small enough to fit in and large estate car (with motor).

New prices here https://yamahamercuryoutboardprice.e...55&id=30896772

3.7m would be ideal store in van while not there, inflate and leave secured to van or under while staying there, if close enough you use launch wheels to get it to beach.

Humping motor around is the tricky bit.......

Thanks, sounds good, there's a path directly behind the van that leads down to the beach and there's a jetty for launching.
I was able to roll my boat from the van to the beach using the transom wheels, although being the plastic dolly type it was a bit rough.
Going to fit some Beach Masters.
