Bombard 380 30hp?

Using a Mercury 15hp 2s at the moment with tiller, was wanting to set it up with remote steering but means disconnecting the tiller cables for it to work. Then a pain to reconnect if using tiller.
So,,, have got a cheap 30hp 2s Johnson with no tiller,,, about 1986ish. Yes I know its only rated for 25hp,,, extra 5hp should be ok?
Use to use a 2.7 rated 8hp with the Merc 15,,, bit skippy on your own, gps 22mph.
Back to 380 and 30hp,,,, steering from the seat (all ready have zodiac steering bar). What's the top speed likely to be? 20ltr fuel, me about 11st.

Most of the time its me the Wife and daughter, want to get the daughter into water toys, ringo possibly skiing. Plenty of kids on you tube skiing behind 25-30hp outboards, even some one my size should be able to ski behind the bombard?,,,, just have to get the wife to drive the boat.

One more question, what size steering cable do I need for the zodiac steering bar set up for a Bombard 380?

should be fine, back then hp was taken at the flywheel, it is now taken from the prop so will probably be around 25hp anyway

How does the Bombard perform with the 15hp Mercury? I've got the same engine and might have a 380 lined up.

A 380 with a 15hp outboard is great if you're 2 or 3 up, but struggles a bit if you're heavily loaded. Having said that, with 4 people on board I wouldn't want to be going spectacularly fast anyway.

We have a Honda 25 on our Bombard 380.
Not the fastest boat around but great fun and feels like it would go through just about any kind of sea tossed at it.

The 15hp is good, one up and I managed 21mph-gps. With the three of us in, down to 15-16mph,,, that's with 30ltr of fuel and all are stuff For the day.

Had two adults and two 10 year olds North Wales this summer,,, first time I had used the boat, handled the 6' swell great.

RIBase
Send a message via Skype™ to Festinghouse
you should get 25mph from your 30hp on that.
