What use is traction control when you hung on your axles, oh look a pretty light that tells me the traction control is working.... excellent!

Hi Downhildai....
It's the 2.8 but we were lucky to find this one with a manual g/box.
We bought it as a standard Paj 8 years ago but it's been in the workshop a few times and had several mods.
I might start a thread titled 'What's the biggest/most unusual thing you have ever towed'... I reckon I could post some pics that would make peoples eyes water!...

I had a 200 series disco before I bought my Terrano 3 ltr which I've had for 4yrs now its hardly cost me anything since I have had it, Unlike the disco which cost me a fortune to keep it on the road .I think the main problem with the disco was ,,steel chassis and alloy body which causes a reaction on the body work I'm not sure if this is still the case with newer models . I love my Terrano , great tow car and plenty power for getting up the hills with a caravan, especialy when I go to Cornwall

We sold our 2004 Discovery recently as I was fed up with it for the very same reasons....we bought it as a 'demonstrator' and it promptly failed every MOT during the time we owned it!
It even failed it's first MOT at 16000mls on a failed front shockabsorber!

This thread is starting to make me think of that classic 80's song by 'the vapors'....

Its not the chassis that causes the problems it the steel door frames.

Not quite as steep but a lot less traction and correct camera angle.

To be honest I think that its who's behind the wheel that counts.

This would seem to back up your argument
