Identify this Yamaharghh

Hi guys,

I have this Yamaha 225 that is pretty old and I'm trying to find the user manual and a Haynes service book for it. Unfortunately the tag is pretty worn.

Any help would be appreciated!

I Have a generic Yam manual and some info on how to age and identify specific models, if that would be of any use send me your e-mail address.

Andy

its a great 2 stroke engine but the fuel bills from those are eye watering, sorry can't help with a manual.

68H is the specific engine type and the plate on other side of the bracket will give engine number, shaft length and build year if it's still there. That's a 2.6 225 as opposed to the 3.1 Vx 225. Fairly straightforward engine. Not sure but don't think Haynes did a service manual but Marine Parts in Swords may have or could get you a Clymer manual to suit. A user manual should be easy enough to get a hold of, might even have one stashed somewhere, I'll check.

The other side is missing the sticker.

Would this manual cover it?

That’s the 4 stroke manual I think, B789 is what you’re looking for
