Engine Torque - 2 stroke vs 4 stroke

Afternoon All,

There's always a lively discussion regarding 2 strokes having great torque in comparison to 4 strokes.

I've been trying to find some torque curves, or even just figures for outboards for some time but they just don't seem to be published.

However, when looking at 250kts "Supercharger" thread there is a link to a paper written as part of the research into the design of the Verado engine. Hidden on page 24 is a lovely set of torque curves :-)

My head's sore just looking at the facts and figures. No chance of a 'plain English' award for that paper! Best bet will always be real-life feedback, listing boat, weight and sea conditions.
