I can't vouch for any other launch sites on the Orwell.
Iam still exploring myself.
Have a look at Felixstowe Ferry (mouth of Deben) but you may need a 4x4.

Levington is no problem at any state of the tide,have'nt launched at Felixstowe Ferry since I had my Fletcher (sorry for swearing) about 15 years ago.I think you have to pay to park in the car park these days aswell.very strong tide runs there, and the waters not very deep to launch. stick with Levington theres a tap for washing boat and flushing engine out.cost is £12.00 Per launch but it's cheaper to get a season ticket from April-end of October for £120.00.hope some of you Ribbers are going to make it down to Levington over the Bank Holiday Week-end??????
