Trips to IOM, or around Ynys Môn (Anglesey to the rest of you) - please count me in. If the little Humber has been replaced all well and good, if not I'l hopefully have a choice of two!

Can also arrange good parking and launching from Holyhead if interested.

Hi Windchill, that's three boats up for an IOM cruise, looks like it's on. Last weekend of June looks a good one for social activities so it's a date. I am sure there will be room if you haven't got a boat. Let me know off group how many people you anticipate making the trip, and if you have a boat the spare capacity you can take.
I can only do the Saturday and Sunday, but again advise if you want to make the crossing on the Friday.
Jon, can you e-mail me with some detail on B&B and moorings.
Cheers
Ian

IOM in June

Tim, have you set dates for your trip to IOM or do you fancy getting a group together from Ireland and meeting up in the Isle of Man at the end of June?

Hi everyone

I will need to check if wife is working but if not count me in also.
(quite sure shes not working)
Either IOM or Anglsey, anywhere in fact as long as its on water

Will be going from Fleetwood so if we meet Conway and anyone if going local to Fleetwood by water maybe go down together, or even meet up part way.

As far a closed or open group, I vote for open, we will always visit other areas and people will visit us, its much better welcome everyone and control the few rather than isolate ourselves.

Regards Gary

Hi fellas,
Can't be sure at present but Beaumaris, Anglesey etc. is a frequent "haunt" of mine (or will be after Easter!) and I'd love to join in with this. I'll keep an eye on this thread and confirm nearer the date.
Regards,
Dave

Just don't bring it forward at all please!

Fuel Jetty

Douglas Harbour doesn't have a fuel jetty to my knowledge, but I'll make some enquiries as Manx Petroleums has a depot right on the quayside and they may be able to run something down the main slipway or to the visitors pontoon if they know that a substantial amount may be needed.

Watch this space!

IOM June 28/29

Some "southen soft'eys" have moved North! (for the weather of course). 5 boats and counting. Anyone in NI or Scotland want to make this a full house?
If you have space available how many trailers/cars can you accomodate? This may help to determine start point.

IOM

If you leave from Conwy parking for trailers and cars is not a problem I have 2 acres of front garden behind electric gates and cameras.

Hi folks

We are in for the trip, wife is not working.

As far a fuel goes I think you can get diesel at Port St Mary, they delivered it by fuel bowser last time we was there, dont think their is petrol though.

Regards Gary

NW RIBsters

I.O.M looks a goer, I need to check my diary dates but at this time of year should be good.

It may also be possible to have an earlier trip to Anglesey, down the Menai Straits etc. Bit of socialising and getting to know the boats.Sometime in May.

I'm currently working on a simple NW Ribsters website which we can use to post up events, contact info etc. I'm hopeful that RIB.net will link to it as will HotRIBS.com

Good to learn that we have a strong regional representation and lots of enthusiastic RIBsters.

IOM refuelling

Hi chaps

I think we're getting there.

I have a contact with a 100 gallon diesel bowser, and clean jerrycans for petrol.

Diesel (at current prices) is about 30p a litre.

Petrol would be at pump price plus a bit for delivery etc. ( Garage is 1.5 miles away.

Is that anywhere near expectations?

Jon

Great weather and a loan of a 5.5m Destroyer this w/e!

Does the cost of fuel really matter that much? It's only a little spin after all.

Is this "jaunt" all chaps, all adults, or what? My 11 year old daughter would love to come along if there are any other intrepid yougsters interested.

Criminal really, gorgeous sunny day, and only two RIBs on the Straits!!

Huge colony of seals off Puffin. Swellies like glass.

Mind you, my fingers took some time to warm up. Does anyone know where I can get boots "welded" to my Typhoon Alpha cheapo drysuit? Latex socks in yachting wellies are not good at this time of year!
