Isle of Wight Music Festival - 11 Jun 06

The Isle of Wight Music Festival is on from 9 - 11 Jun 06. Was thinking of heading across on the Sunday. No tickets left but I am under the impression you might be able to view / hear from the water.

You can see it from the water and definatly hear it. Check your tides carefully though as it gets very shallow.

Pete,

You will indeed to able to hear it loud and clear and probably see most of the main stage. The river runs right up next to the site and there were boats their last year.

Tried to upload a photo of where it is but basically, the main stage is very near the leisure centre. The site then runs up the river towards cowes. This may be the last year that it is on this site so make the most of it! There is a rumor that it will move to a bigger site.

I'll be there with bells on so watch out for me crashing the stage

need to watch the tide - as you can see from the pic most of it dries up and the channel could be pretty busy!

yeah...ish. i think the main stage is the field up from that oval field, but i'm not sure. I would have to look at google earth myself when I get home to get my bearings.

In the fields north of that shot, you can see the diagonal lines from the campsites...unless they've up dated it since i last checked!

When we sail from the Medina Valley Centre which is located just before where you will need to be to see things we aim for approx 2.5m above chart datum which I calculate would be at the following times, although you may wish to add a touch more time to be sure:

Friday 9th: 19:30
Saturday 10th: 20:10
Sunday 11th: 21:00
(All times are BST)

Hope this helps, sadly I can't make it as I'm becoming a yachtie for the weekend!

Hi Simon,

When you sailed from Medina Valley, have you met a chap called Alex Stypulkowski?
