Real shame about the Divers, aka The First and Last.

It was the only pub I have found that had a sign reading "Customers are requested to remain seated whilst the bar is in motion."

The First & Last is the restaurant just opposite. That the Divers is no more is a minor disaster in my opinion....

Its a while since I was on Alderney. Opposite the Divers was just the remains of the old garage last visit. First and Last was our "pet" name, I am glad someone has used it.Carlo. You can probably tell by now that people like Alderney.

The First and Last is still operating. It is closed at the moment for winter, but opens again at Easter.
The garage, opposite The Divers, is no more. It has been demolished and (under construction) is a set of buildings to mirror the Seaview Hotel on the other side of the road.

Yes. It was called Jean's Stores.
It is now owned by Les Riches, an islands chain-store.

Hi Brian

Block of flats being built opposite the Sea View, not anything to do with the hotel as far as I know.

Diver's pub was meant to be returning after hotel refurb, but they had some trouble finding someone to run it. Don't know what the outcome was, but it won't be ready for some time IMHO.
