Started this project two months ago.


Bought it non working and not knowing which problems it had.

After some work and asking around. Found out the boat was under water.
Pulled the engine and drained it. Was lucky to find the engine full of diesel to protect the insides.

Engine will be rebuild. Now refurbished the hull on the outside.

Finished the bottom coating today.
Five layers of epoxy and two layers vc offshore antifouling.

Cleaned up the Hamilton drive today. First coat of primer on

Looks like a lot of work you've taken on there!

But it'll be a lot of boat when you're finished

Today the first parts of the engine came back.
Crankshaft, heads and injectionpump checked or refurbished.

Now waiting for caterpillar to deliver all of the gaskets and bearing.

Feels like Christmas already

Stript of the old paint. Welded in some supports and fixed some cracks.
New plates for worklights and vhf antenna.

Reinforced the baseplates they were damaged and cracked.

Just came back from powder coating today in a nice black finish.

Almost finished the rebuild of this monster engine 435hp
10.4liter v8 diesel. Just some small thinks to do before testing.

Got myself a new simrad 12inch mfd. The old 8inch didn't work anymore.

And made a new bigger baseplate for the front pole.

Got out the fuel tank to check and clean everything.

Now refitting it for private use.

Nice boat! Probably the most hard core rib I’ve ever seen on these forums!

I’m curious about the picture of the partially covered bow post in post #15. Looks like there is some sort of hand wheel mounted to the top of the post? And is that a rotating rope drum mounted the post braces? Was the rope drum meant to take up anchor line?
