I have a tame fabricator making one for our's. It will then go off to a pal's for powder coating. We could possibly make a pair.

It'll be 2" Ally tube.

As you're running a Mercruiser inboard in your SR4, you may get away with a little less height on the A frame.

Hi

I'm at Colyton East Devon, near to Seaton Lyme Regis, Sidmouth etc. Yes I could collect from Teignmouth area pretty easily.

Please keep me posted and if you need funding up front let me know

Andy

Any chance of a threesome?
My SR4 is certainly in need of an A-frame and I'm a courier situated in Plymouth so could help out with transport...

Work begins on frame(s) on Tues. I'll get prices when Nick has looked at our SR4. Our's has a deluxe deck, we'll need to know whether the other boats are standard or deluxe for the length of the diagonal braces.

Mr. SR Rainman (DHD) will explain the difference between the decks if asked nicely.

There's no need to ask nicely.

Deluxe decks (like on Mollers' boat) are made of plastic(GRP) and have moulded in curvy transom supports, whereas the Rescue boat decks are made properly out of plywood and have a pair of 1" diameter stainless strut tubes bolted to the deck and the transom.

So, if lengthened, could the diag. struts be bolted to the floor?

Our A frame is having diagonal struts fitted for strength as our kids intend to w/board from it. I suppose a hoop would do, if only for lights, aerial etc.

I doubt the original struts would need lengthening. If you look at the boat in pic 2 above, you'll see the timber pads moulded onto the deck which hold the captive bolts for securing the transom struts. The A-frame could be fixed to the deck at these points, provided a diagonal brace from this point to the transom was incorporated into the design of the A-frame to replace the original struts.

Whether the strut fixings would be man enough to secure a tow-frame is another issue though......

Yeah, we discussed this. I'll take a chance, they're not very heavy.

Don't make it too tall and you may well be ok.
If it starts to craze the gel in the deck, you could look into bolting it through the hull.

Next job is to draw out the engine bolts and put 'em back in the right way around.

The crap around the deck is transom swarf.
