To be fair to the Amarok if you tow at 60 religiously then 20 mpg is achievable. It is a thirsty beast though. Also towed with a ranger that was actually a better tow truck IMO the 3 litre lump made...

Yep, We had one a few years ago definitely the best tow car I drove. Also had a disco and found the trailer meandered more due to the Discos height and wallowing ride.
