I have a an Icom M71. It has served me well, while ribbing and kayaking.
Unfortently it doesn't float which I knew, but knew even further when my mate dropped it in the Forth. That was costly!

Music on Rib
While I'm out riibbing I just prefer to use my Ipod.
The reason for me just using my ipod is because you wont run your battery in your boat down, which powers a lot of the rib such as a VHF Marine...

Just search around on places like ebay and google!
I believe that Icom do PC based recievers.
Not sure if you are legaly aloud to record vhf transmitions, unless you are given legal premission...
