2 stroke V 4 stroke

I currently have a Mariner 15 2 stroke and am considering going to a 15 HP 4 stroke.
Has anybody owned both and can give a comparison from a performance point of view.

I'm looking to upgrade my current set up, quicksilver 3.4 air floor with 15 HP Mariner ( look out on Ebay ) for a Honwave or similar and 20 or 25 HP motor.

Thanks for the replies. I'll try the tachometer when I can get one. It is an air floor quicksilver but all pressures are correct according to my BT12 digital pump.

Pressure is spot on to the book after returning to shore.
Feels much more responsive on mirror flat compared to a bit of swell.

Hydrofoil fitted

I've just fitted a hydrofoil to my 15HP mariner on a Quicksilver 3.4 SIB.
It seems to get up on plane sooner but speed hasn't changed noticeably !

Hi All
I am trying to insure my sib thro craft insure as recommended by a number of people. Can anyone tell me what it is classed as? I assume small motor boat as opposed to a rib. Thanks

We've been told there is no charge for launching the SIB ( we already have insurance ) so I assume that's it.
