Have now spoken to Lowrance service team.....they agree with your conclusion.
They will replace the antenna for me at a very agreeable price - not sure why it failed though???...

Lowrance LMS 332C - GPS Problem

Brig seam repair
I have a very slow puncture from the seams on the ends of both tubes on my Brig rib.
The seams are lifting slightly causing this leak....the tubes lose a small amount of pressure overnight.

VHF Remote handset not functioning!

Battery Cable replacement
What is my best source to replace the short cable that links my battery to the electric isolator switch?

Repairing a repair???
Looking at a previous repair (inherited!) I have discovered a leak - tiny but still a leak :(
The rest of the repair seems sound.
