Year of manufacture

Have just got my first Rib, a Avon searider 4M. Can anyone tell me how I can find out its year of manufacture ( the serial number is a string of 0's followed by 1610 )

Serial number doesn't sound right. Is it stamped on a small aluminium plate on the outside of the transom?

If you post a pic of the RIB, I'll have a stab at it from that.

Serial number is on the spec plate, I will take some photo's and post them in the next few days.

As Brad said they should be a small alloy plate on the outside of the transom and one tucked under the starboard tube in the bow.
The last two digits are usually the build year.
