Mine is free in Christchurch till the end of Feb . Mid River , non drying , but is restricted by tide to be able to actually get to sea.

nothing's well priced in the solent, but the further you get up a river the cheaper it should become

I say free as in nil pounds free & also free as in no boat on it till 26th Feb (when I get mine back ! ). As Biffer says nothing is cheap even in Winter - my £600 winter storage bill reminded me of that today.

From what i recall, the Gunwharf Quay in Portsmouth offer good winter rates. Tim may be able to offer more info on this. However, it wont be as cheap as Pete's very generous offer.
It is a good location in Christchurch

Gunwharf have got an offer on at the moment, they claim they will beat any like for like quote for winter berthing. But bear in that is a like for like quote isn't going to be against a quote from up a river somewhere!

an up river mooring, or quiet boatyard is ideal. My colleage pays 600 a year for an up itchen river non drying small boat yard.... WITH dodgey pontoon

Indeed. I would recommend Trafalgar for out of the water storage, but if you want to keep your boat in the water its not ideal as the place dries out. I've also had problems getting in and out of there; theres no marked channel, which means unless its high tide you run the risk of running aground (hence that dented prop!). I keep a couple of boats up there but always tow them down to the Camber slip to launch.
