Where were you today?

What a lovely autumn day today! Sun shining, wind very low - just the day for an outing on the boat.

Where did you go today? How was it for you? (Go easy JSP!!!)

I went along to Kinnego Marina to launch into Lough Neagh. However while it was a graet sunny morning a mile up the road ... at Lough Neagh the mist was down and it was a no-go for anyone launching! The guys in charge of the slip were not letting anyone launch in such poor visibility due to safety concerns.
However, I managed to talk them into letting me launch and tie up. I needed to go away and pick up my daughter before going out so I hoped that by the time I returned all would be OK and it would be a go.
Imagine my disappointment when I returned over an hour later to find the mist still down and visibility very poor - perhaps even worse than before!
I was about to recover the boat and go home when the better half managed to persuade me to go and have a cuppa in the marina tea-shop. As we dipped our biccies the mist began lifting! A quick word with the safety guys and we were off!
We only went out for an hour and a half - a quick run up to Rams Island and back, but what a run! The water was like glass. The sun rose and the remnants on the mist teased us there and back.
Ribs are made for days like this!!!

so here are some taken today........

And what a day it was. We dipped two ribs at Port na Blagh (Port of the Flowers) and made the passage west round Horn Head to Tory Island . The weather was excellent and wide smiles were evident all round on return - even the soaked Newbies were laughing. Ribbing at it's best.

No pics though - we were having to much fun racing and wave busting

I've never done that from the West. I've always come up North from Bunninver and round Bloody Foreland. I've always meant to dip in at Port Na Blagh. I'm sure it was a great day for it today Willk.

I was 25 miles inland, but just knew it was a beautiful day for cruising or fishing. Bu**er I hate when I have those days!

That does'nt sound quite so much fun but once home you'll be in time for some wonderful Spring boating weather

Trip out accross Morecambe Bay then a circuit of Walney Island befor picking up a mooring at Piel for a brew, back to Knott End via Morecambe. As usual forgot to take a camera, but if I had the pictures would not be dissimilar to Zodiacman's.

Launched the SR4.7 at Lawrenny to try a new prop out. Ended up taking a run over to Skomer Island to see the seals and their pups. Beautiful day.
