For those that want to dive through arches you don't need loads of kit, swimming trunks, gogles and a breath will suffice

If you really want cliffs, beaches, caves, diving and interesting seas then there is no-where better than Tory island off north Donegal. Nine miles off the mainland across Tory sound. Just a blissful place - as long as the Atlantic is kind!

...and once again it was a F8 and no ribbing. So here's the Rossan Point area. Word has it the night has sent us a wreck . More of this later.

...and thus it was. As reported in the the thread "Wreck Check", the penultimate resting place of the Niamh Áine is just under the cliffs at Lenan Head Fort on the Inishowen peninsula. We visited today ( still too windy to go ribbing). A truly nasty location for a rescue.

Wiki: "Lenan Head Fort, Lough Swilly, Inishowen, County Donegal was built in 1895, initially with 3 9.2" guns. It was refitted in 1911 with 2 newer 9.2" models. An unusual British fortified site because it was started so late, with concrete caponiers in an extensive ditch system that climbs the hill to the headland. Easy access to most of the site, and excellent views."
