Don't angle them back as (a) it looks ghey and (b) you induce a polarisation shift that will lose you precious db.

yep I was pleased to find them available on salty johns site....and he's just down the road from me....... I recognized them as the aerial I first had on my fast fisher 40 years ago. Bit fancier finish now but basically the same. That aerial went with me on to three different boats before I eventually let it go. Aah those were the days, Seavoice radios the size and build of a microwave and came with 2 channels -16and6-anything else you had to buy the crystals for up to a max of sommat like 6 channels. Still got one in the loft and it works provided you realise that the secondary squelch control is to clout the casing...hard. We get it out on radio courses sometimes to show how things have moved on. But the aerial was bril back then and still is now.
