I think it needs to be dangerous/corrosive to do its job. And I also think if its used carefully with plenty of water to wash down afterwards it works fine. Just don't leave it on. I also make sure I wash it down with soapy water after just to get rid of any last residue.

It's only corrosive to metal - hypalon is fine!!!
