Just thought I’d close out this thread with an update.
Over Christmas I’ve finally replaced the original cover that started this thread 4 years ago.
After almost 4 years use, including quite a bit of towing with it on, the old one was well and truly buggered.
It wasn’t that waterproof anymore, and had worn through in a few places due to flapping about at motorway speeds.
It had also gone green in some areas, and I’ve had a separate console and jockey seat waterproof cover underneath it for the last 6 months.
A year ago it was still in very good condition, but has gone down hill rapidly lately.
I honestly believe it would have lasted a lot longer had I not towed with it on, and if I’d washed it down occasionally.
However for the cost I didn’t hesitate to replace it with the same.
The new one cost me £96 from ebay, and appears to be the same quality as the original.
As last time I Purchased the Size 7 which is too big for my RIB, and cut the front off because the bow section on the covers is very narrow.
I’m hoping it will help when the boat goes up for sale in a couple of months, and make sure the worst of this winters weather is kept out.
I would still recommend these covers to anyone, but wouldn't suggest towing too far with it on.
