hi all
haveing seen the boat at ribquest i can confirm its a nice bit off kit,
i think the customer wanted the big engines.

its on my wish list when i get a larger rib...

dave at ribquest is a very fair guy he is service,ing my suzuki engine at the moment .
may be when buying a rib from new, ribquest is worth looking at not all rib makers are down south ..

all i said was it looks a bit low, i stand by my words, i hope you will look at this comment constructively, a boat that size will lend it self to commercial work, looking solely at that picture i formed an opinion that by the time i had people, 2 liferafts, and all the other kit associated with the MCA code that the boat would be too low.
i offered a solution which was in my opinion worth looking at.

I welcome your comments and I fully understand where you’re coming from.
The 9m in question is a cat B Rib designed for a leisure customer and It has 500mm tubes which meets his spec. We have had 20 people on this boat with 14 stood down the side and I hardly moved still giving plenty of free board and stabiliy.

For commercial use, we can use a different transom moulding to take 600mm tubes this will mean the tubes are still in contact with the water at rest but I don’t see this as a problem. (Some old school Rib folk may say it’s not a Rib if the tubes don’t touch the water)

If we feel the need to raise the free board more at any time we will of course either add wedges to the existing mould or make a new mould to incorporate the raised tube flanges.

With regards to Ribquest customers posting on this site, I have never asked any of them to do so and its no different to any of you posting for the manufacturer of the Rib you currently own, unless of course this is just a Osprey,Humber,Ribcraft,SR4 only club !

I did see a new Ribquest last year just north of Ullapool, I would think just under 6 m with twin etecs and black tubes and I'll put my head up to say that the finish looked very good, shame the bloke had run over some concrete and punctured the trailer tyre

every body thinks there rib is the best and everbody has different views this web site is for helpfull/ usefull info not getting at each other??

i haver had humber, trimlet/ avon,/northcraft/ tornado/ and have had ribs boats for over 30 years,
all different its up to you to make a informed choice.
As a diver humber/tornado/northcraft are good but i have a avon now and its also good, comments should only be by member,s who have owned the make in question its difficult to comment on a rib manifactura boat u have not experienced????

this thred is getting silly now

I wouldn't worry either, but it's unfortunate for Ribquest that the brand is getting rave reviews from an end user who clearly has little experience of other craft to compare against - hardly an informed opinion!

But you have not owned a Ribquest

This has nothing to do with how good the boats are. I am sure they are excellent judging by all the feedback and if I sell my Osprey to upgrade then Ribquest along with Ribcraft, Humber & Redbay would all be on the list of Ribs to try before I ordered my new Osprey 7.5

This is about the copying of other peoples products and then trying to claim it is not a copy and the way in which Ribquest have thrust themselves into this forum in a rather Excaliburesque way

A good review from ANY owner is better than a bad one, so not that unfortunate.

God help any owner who posts pics/info on here that could be contrued as showcasing the brand of rib that they own - for that will surely bring down the fire.

If they can't rubbish the rib, they'll rubbish the Poster...
