Beating the big one....again!!!
To the crew of the Spirit....

Good luck with your adventure and may Sea's, wind's, Oh and "burgy bits" be kind to you all on this voyage.

I had set a little challenge for myself 2 weeks ago by reading half of "Beating the big one" on my high level crossing of the North Atlantic from the UK to States and completed the second half this morning travelling in the opposite direction. I was however seated 38000ft in a 777; You’ll not be as comfortable!

However you might be pleased to know that "Beating the big one" was the first book I've read since "Animal Farm" at school in 1981 and I must say that I really enjoyed it.

I look forward to receiving updates and following your progress.

Just returned from ireland, with Camilla Pauls better half.

The lads left at 10 pm last night, with a beautiful calm sea.

The weekend was an emotional time for everyone who was there, and watching them go off into the distance was the hardest thing I have had do do in a long time (other than get used to the tins being lined up in the cupboard !!!)

They are hoping tto be iceland by morning, and hopefully we will hear from them then.

But I can tell you now, Aging youth (for those who don't know he's my other half) has a digital camera and 2 memory cards so theres the capability of over 500 photo's there. PAul has a camera and viedo camera and egbert has one too. This means we could be have either a really boring long session of 'holiday' snaps or the potential for a grreat piss up at the jolly sailor on their return !!!! I am hoping for the later.

I am just going to be a rebel and mess up the tins in the cupboard.

I would like to say a big thank you to Kathleen for her advice, it's worked !!!!

emotional alright!!! 'There and Back'
A deep weekend...Kathryn please don't hold me responsible for anything I said!!!! Lovely to see you, Camilla and Fiona and to spend some girl time together while Paul went RIBraiding with Gavin. (Ta Gavin and excellent to meet you; congrats to Carolyn on brill B&B choice!!!!! Tim you'll be kicking yourself ).

Thanks and Hi to all the friendly people of Bangor and Donaghadee . The four gents became very focussed on Sunday sorting out kit and having a major discussion about undercrackers. (Apparently Egbert's got anti-bacterial ones and Camilla's Paul has six pairs velcroed to his rear end...he promised to remove the inside ones first!!!)
Wotta load of old girls they were...packing teabags, wipes, fake tan... and don't even ask where they got the loo roll for the ensuite
'Did we forget anything?' they asked...'St. Brigid's Cross' I suggested ...'I bet she is' camt the smartass reply...
'Gaffer tape' suggested you-know-who ...

EGBERT SAYS A BIG HI TO THE GIRLS

OK they left at 9.55 last night and phoned this morning from 450 m. off Iceland. They had a rough night and some engine problems but were underway and cheerful again this morning.
