Sula - new ribcraft 7.8

We took delivery of our new rib, Sula, at the weekend and i thought some of you might like to see some pics.

After a tortuous drive from weymouth to Oban, we got her in the water on saturday and i have to say she is just fantastic - as you would expect, the build quality is impeccable and everything is just where you would want it...

The hull felt fantastically balanced and the fly by wire throttle and scotseats should mean she is really comfortable on long trips - of which i hope there will be many!

The sun shone on us all week and it was west coast boating at its best. Thanks to all those on this forum who gave advice during the build - its appreciated, and a big thank you to all at ribcraft for their excellent work.

Still cant wipe the grin off my face!

she is based in oban so tends to be round the western isles - great boating round there.

and thanks jambo - well spotted picking out easdale! She performed really well - still running in so we cant open her up fully but bags of power and there was a lumpy wind against tide swell running in the firth of lorn one day which she handled beautifully. Scotseats definitely worth a look - really comfortable.

I passed you going into town at the weekend and wondered who the nice shiny new RIB belonged to, most of the regulars I recognise but Sula was a new name
If you are based in Oban you will probably bump into me on the water sometimes, probably be out Sunday diving if the weather stay calm.

We used to own a green redbay wraparound which we kept at ardoran marine which you may have seen around and about. I doubt i will be up this weekend but i'll keep an eye out for you when next up - is your boat easily recognisable? It wasnt the orange humber that passed us going up the hill out of town was it?

rubbish at doing attachments on this but have tried to make the pics a bit better - will have another go when i get home tonight with some other pics

Cheers

yes we did - quick run out to test all was working then the long drive home began! Caused a bit of chaos in weymouth when trying to find the slip by going the wrong way down the one way street along the waterfront too - apologies if you got caught up in the chaos!!!
