Strobeguy, I can easily understand why you are p*ssed off. Having said that, I think that you will find that there is virtually no difference between a '92 and a '95 Hurricane. The tube situation is different, but if the tubes have been looked after reasonably well, they should be fine too. Hypalon is (almost) infinitely repairable, but if they have suffered UV damage, you might have a legitimate complaint.

I don't say any of this to excuse Thunderbird's actions, only to make you feel better. The price or condition of a Hurricane of that vintage won't suffer one way or the other for a couple of years difference.

I do agree though that a public forum isn't the place to air your beef if you expect some compensation from them. It might be that a "friendly" conversation, followed by a "friendly" lawyer might be worth while. I think it's reasonable that you should expect a discount, and depending on the state of the tubes, perhaps a large on. "Caveat emptor" might apply, but if they have misrepresented the boat, intentionally or otherwise, you should have grounds for an action against them...

And you are right not to expect much from the government types...

Pump it up and RIDE!

I am not looking for any type of financial return as I know that will never happen. All I want is the proper paperwork so I can register and insure the boat.

As for the public comments I would hope someone thinking of doing business with this company would consider what I went through and use it to their advantage. This company is not looking to take care of the customer after the sale. I wish I read my post when I was looking because I can tell you things would have gone much differently. Everything right down to the GPS that is missing would have been in writing.

Yes the GPS is missing. The antenna, transducer, console mount, and wires are all there just the head itself is not.

The boat does seem to be in good shape and so far is cleaning up nicely.
