Stainless Fittings

Any ideas where i could find some Stainless self tapping inserts? Bit like on here http://www.tapex.co.uk

Need to put console in so it is removable and this seems the best solution but cannot find anywhere to get some!

The Atlantic consoles are bolted down and probably use something very similar to these. One of our maintenance routines is to check the bolts are tight as they do come loose over time.

How far apart are you planning on spacing the bolts?

Just make sure you get the right stainless!!

You need marine grade (obviously) 316 stainless or better, and I believe that when you order screws bolts etc, you should specifiy at least A4 bolts (i.e. 316) rather than A2 - which I beleive is 304 stainless, and will rust in salt water.

I want to do something similar with my rear double pod seats so that I can free up some deck space - but haven't seen anything that I think would stand up to the abuse yet.

Thanks - indeed it will be 316. Console (actually a rear bench) only needs to come out occasionally so locktite will be involved. Will use big bolts. Currently for last 3 years have been 6 bolts and it never budged (it is a snug fit and the stresses on it are not great) but would go for 6 to 10 bolts now.

Thanks all....

I've used the above a few times. Bought 316 A4 bolts with 316 A4 washers and lock nuts.
