Sportsboat and RIB Magazine

Just thought I'd mention that they have stopped publishing the magazine and Boat magazine as well - others from CSL will continue and it looks like there will be refunds of subscriptions - There is a statement on the CSL Website if you're interested. The next issue will be the last - for now allegedly!

They clearly think more of their raggie customers than their mobo customers then

Personally them declaring that they are going to concentrate on the electronic version is no use to me. I enjoy settling down with a paper magazine. It's just not right sat on the bog with a laptop

I agree, if they are only going to offer the electronic version I will not bother, the joy of sitting on the throne or lying on the sofa reading a good magazine is hard to beat. Why does everything have to go electronic these days ? People are not computers.

Perhaps it's because Wafi's buy the magazine, and stink boaters don't. It's a catch 22 situation, no money from sales, only from advertising, so if no one buys, no one will advertise.

Most of the major US powerboat publications have ceased printing, although some have gone to Bi-monthly.

On my trip to NZ I see that two of the powerboat titles covering NZ and Australia have merged into one - definitely a sign of the times ............

They've stopped there jet ski title as well by the look of things. But the last couple of those have been so bad they were nearly un readable.

Though times indeed.

Indeed it is a sign of the times. At least 4 of the commercial printers we deal with have gone into liquidation over the last 18 months. On top of that, there have been numerous paper price increases that ultimately are passed onto the customer.

Can't help but feel Sports Boat and RIB didn't cater for one market or the other. The majority of the reviews were on damned expensive boats. They could have done a lot more for small to mid-range market and cater for SIBs too, with articles on DIY mechanics, trailer maintenance and upgrades, or is that just me?
