Solent Warning

http://www.mcga.gov.uk/c4mca/mcga-ne...BC&m=12&y=2006

Just spotted this - loads of lengths of timber floating around the Needles area - lengths about 15' long - not funny if you hit one at speed!!!

Save some for my woodburner if you see any......

I've got out on the Solent every day but four in the last month (yachts and windsurfing) and there is an alarming amount of detritus floating about. Combination of extreme low pressure, nuclear winds and high tides means that allsorts of rubbish is being swept out of the rivers.

As Sarge on Hill Street Blues used to say "Be careful out there"

Aha!!! We're both right. I am quoting the original Sarge, you are quoting his younger replacement!

By the way, I was out again yesterday (5.4m2 on the Goya Freewave) and there's STILL lots of shite floating around, including a tangle of nets off of Lee on the Solent which looks like it's been cut clear of a fishing boat.
