Yeh...you wanna eliminate getting anything on your vehicle wet.

That salty stuff is unforgiving on car wheel bearings and handbrake cables.!!

One other thing.

Allow for the tide when faffing around trying to get your boat on/off trailer. If you park with your rear wheels just touching the water on a rising tide then at certain states of tide your looking at wheel submersion in half n hour.!!

This,

Get the family on side - and fully practiced close to home.

After a 3 hour drive to the Solent area it could all get a bit fraught if things don't immediately go to plan!

Forecast for here is a bit poor for Sunday morning anyway.

Have fun.

If I'm going out with the wife and kids would use this Hamble point or Northney Marina is anther yes you pay but no problem parking trailer and car (I don't even have to unhitch the trailer to park!) toilet and showers included on site, pontoon to tie up to slips you can use at any state of tide.
All makes for a happy day out, take the stress out of your day

This one is aimed at Max, Itchenor harbour https://www.google.co.uk/maps/search.../data=!3m1!1e3 is a nice spot to put a sib in with good sheltered waters of Chichester Harbour to explore and some great beeches at West Wittering.
I have Taken my Sib over to Bembridge from here which is a nice trip taking in the forts on the way, used a different slip that day that would not recommend!
Lost Anchor & fishing gear, great day out in the Solent

anther day out here

Friday Sibbing 65 miles!

Cheers Nick, good to have some input from a SIBing point of view as I guess our needs are less than the typical 5-6m RIB in terms of launching. However, on the other hand our capabilities are reduced of course...

Any other SIBers use the Solent regularly?

Anyone on for a possible meet up/SIBing day out sometime in August? - avoiding first week though as we'll be down in Dartmouth.
