RIBase
Very nice refurb. The Yam 70hp is a beauty.

Do you think Magic Tree sell 2-stroke air fresheners now you've moved to the 4-stroke brigade?

Thanks so much for the pics. Please keep em coming for the SR brigade, its quite difficult to find some action shots of these boats, even trawling the web.

How did they go with the Mariner 60s on them?

We had the 60 Bigfoot's, used to go like hot snot with just 2 pax, full boarding team you could get on the plane but that depended on weather conditions. They used to chine walk when the sea was calm. Nav lights never worked we just used to use cylmues (glow sticks) attached to the A frame. You had to tack in big steep swells to keep any speed, head on in to a sea you wouldn't get anywhere. HT leads would pop out a lot, starter motor would often fault and you would have to start with a screwdriver. They were used several times a day and night, and the coxn's are mostly teenagers so as you can imagine they were thrashed, I wouldn't do the things I did in a pussers RIB in my own RIBs because I have to fix them now and the Government doesn't foot the bill for me.

Thanks for the info North sea. they are good fun.
Managed a decent day out on the weekend and weather was superb, So as it is with a 13x19 pitch yam prop. Top speed 39.1 knots (thinks its roughly 45mph) with and revving at 5800 so still 500 RPM to go, will get to its upper rev range when done in excess of 10 hours.
Low and mid range is superb. Fuel econ is fantastic and everything I hoped for.
93 miles through various rev ranges and exactly 50 litres used
If I had to get somewhere with econ in mind then I would imagine 105 miles maybe a tad more out of the two fuel tanks, (each tank does actually hold 26.2)

I recognize all the places in the photos , but did you do 93 miles and get in and out of bristol harbour all in one day ?. Fair play if you did.
