Sea Trials

It was the big launch day today! PeterM arranged for us to use a slipway in Poole and we launched my searider just before 11:30 but as soon as she was launched she started filling with water! In a Trevi Fountain Style

There were several screw holes under the console from where I had repositioned the straps and water was coming in through them, they were on my to do list but I overlooked them at the last minute

We recovered her and then decided to go out in PeterM's Adventure where we met up with Avocet and then headed out of Poole harbour for a while where I had a go on Pete's RIB.

Feeling a little better we then decided to head back into Poole and pick up some stainless screws to see if we could stop the leaks enough for a quick test and it worked a treat.

With the weather closing in we went out for a blast and then back before the hail storm. The 4m Searider was better than I ever expected and the Yam 40 was excellent and tuned to perfection. I smiled so much my face hurts

Thank you Peter and David, you really are awesome guys

I dont think I have ever seen anyones face go from dissapointed to such a big smile in one day.....

A great SR which was clear to see handles the short chop that blew up across the harbour far better than the Adventure!

Thanks Peter, it really was a great day and with such a build up and the fact that my father wasn't well enough for the launch I was really gutted with what now appears to be such a small problem. Who would have thought that a few 3mm holes could have been such a show stopper!

Well it all turned out fine in the end although I'm aching all over!

The Sr4 really was awesome, the more punishment I gave her the more she wanted to go. I bottled out at 27 knots in the chop and she had loads more left in her. The outboard sounded awesome very throaty which made the smile on my face a little bit bigger

Oh yeah and parking under the bow of that Sunseeker so we could nip to the chandlers was Pete's plan that turned it all around!

Thanks again, great photos
