Scotland Trip - advice needed

Hi,

I'm hoping for a bit of advice. I'm not even sure if it's possible... But I'm hoping to slip the RIB somewhere in scotland and have a week camping using the boat for transport, ideally in lochs in case the weather is bad.

I'd like if possible to have decent moorings at night, but I don't need campsites as such...

Has anyone done a similar route ? Any suggestions ? 6 of us are hoping to do this from one RIB sometime in August...

Thanks in advance !

The Caledonian Canal would be a good one (series of lochs between Fort William and Inverness)

There is a free slip way at Great Glen Water Park which is located oon the end of Loch Oich.

There are plenty of decent moorings all along, with fantastic facilites provided for those with a British Waterways Key (the best £5 you will ever spend).

I don't think there are many official campsites, however there are plenty of fields and grassed areas !

Hope this helps

Portavadie by miles. best marina in the UK, v cheap for a 1 week mooring. lots of places near by to stay or their B&B starts at £18.00 per night per person.

Oh and now you can find a full review at Portavadie Marina | Glasgow and Clyde Outboard Services Outboard Engine Servicing

Great place and there is plenty around of interest from Arran, Kyles and the Loch itself. Dave you must have shares in the place!

I wish. we got fed up of people asking about it so I want up for a bussmans holiday to see if the rumours were true and if anything they were understated. going back in July for a long weekend but not taking any tools or clyde outboard branding so should get some me time!
